New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) The Enforcement Directorate today questioned sacked CWG Organising Committee Joint Director General T S Darbari and suspended Deputy DG Sanjay Mohindroo for several hours over alleged financial irregularities in connection with the mega sporting event. Official sources said based on the leads received from the questioning, some more officials of the OC would be called in for questioning. Darbari, a close aide of OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi, and Mahindroo were summoned to explain certain financial transactions undertaken during the Queen''s Baton Relay in London last year. The ED has registered a case under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) in this regard. Darbari is understood to have denied his role in any of the irregularities during the questioning, they said. "The ED asked me about my relationship with Kalmadi as part of the Organising Committee.I have given my details and I would wait for the investigation to get over before I comment," Mahendroo told reporters after being grilled by the officials for about seven and half hours. When asked about the possibilities of being called in for interrogation again, he said "If they (ED) require, I will be coming back again." Sources said officials of other agencies like Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will also be questioned in connection with the probe. "All documents brought by Darbari related to the money transactions and grant of contracts to different agencies in London were scrutinised by the officials," an ED official said. Sources said this has been done in the wake of the British authorities referring to the High Commission a matter regarding A M Films, a little-known London-based company, to which a huge sum of money was transferred through the Royal Bank of Scotland. According to ED sources, Darbari has provided the agency with minutes of the meeting of the committee for evaluation of bids relating to work during the launch of the QBR. Sources said that the documents say "in view of the short time available and the risk of the cancellation of the QBR event, the Committee decided to compare the quotes (of differtent vendors in London) and evaluate them, keeping in view the cost and time factor." .
