Maha announces prize of Rs five lakh to Tejaswini

Mumbai, Aug 9 (PTI) Maharashtra Government today announced a cash prize of Rs five lakh to Tejaswini Sawant for winning a gold medal in the 50 metre rifle shooting prone category at the World Shooting Championships held in Munich, Germany. Sports Minister Suresh Shetty today announced the prize and Chief Minister Ashok Chavan would felicitate her for the best performance at the world championships, he said. Tejaswini was the first Indian woman shooter to win the gold medal at the world championship after equalling the world-record score.
