London, Aug 9 (ANI): The England team has roped in former Australian coach John Buchanan to get an insider's view on Australia's players and conditions ahead of the Ashes series.

Australia won three Ashes series and two World Cups under Buchanan, who is flying to England this week to provide the team with an insider's view.

The Daily Express reports it is to be debated that how much Buchanan's approach helped Australia.

He did have the benefit of being in charge during the era of great players such as Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Adam Gilchrist, Justin Langer and Matthew Hayden.

Buchanan's recruitment ends any pretence that England is solely focused on the one-sided series against Pakistan.

England is already gaining some insight into how to bowl in the conditions Down Under from their new Australian bowling coach David Saker, and later this summer they will be training with the Kookaburra balls that are used in Australia.

This is not the first time England head coach Andy Flower has tapped into Buchanan's knowledge and ideas. He was employed as a consultant last year, mainly to advise other coaches on the development programme. (ANI)
