The Sports Ministry has initiated the process to clear the dues of India's top tennis stars. Rahul Bhatnagar, joint secretary and in-charge of the International Sports Division, said on Thursday that the All India Tennis Federation (AITA) had submitted many of the bills, even though proof of travel was still awaited.
"We have asked AITA to submit proof of travel documents for individual players as part of their training for the Commonwealth Games. The federation has submitted several documents and have promised is that the travel proof will be given by Friday," Bhatnagar said. He added that once the ministry had all the documents, they would be forwarded to the finance department. "By next week the amount is expected to reach the federation," he said.
