Rain washed out the opening session of the fourth and final test between England and Pakistan at Lord's on Thursday.
The heavy rain which has fallen in London over the past 24 hours cleared in the morning and both teams were practising on the outfield an hour before the scheduled start time of 1000 GMT.
However the rain returned, the players departed and the covers were wheeled out. Lunch was brought forward by half an hour to 1130 GMT with light rain still falling.
England lead the series 2-1.
