New Delhi, Oct 6 (PTI) The 19th Commonwealth Games seems to be the cleanest so far as no participating athletes have been tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. 60 athletes in different sporting events in the October 3-14 event being held here, have undergone a doping test till now. "Doping test has been carried out amongst 60 participating athletes in the past two days. None have been detected positive for having taken any drugs to make their performance better," Dr M Jegathesan, chairman, medical committee of Commonwealth Games, said. In order to monitor the dope menace among its athletes, the Commonwealth Games Federation is sparing no athlete from undergoing a doping test. To conduct the test, participating athletes have been categorised under three different heads and test are being carried out. Dr Jegathesan, said, "The doping test is being conducted in three different categories of athletes. One is amongst medal winners, the other is amongst pre-competition athletes and thirdly it is being carried out on random basis, say on drawing by lots." The Organising Committee of the Delhi Games has trained more than 450 Doping Control Officials for this sporting extravaganza. The DCOs have been trained at par with international standards for testing.
