Heavy downpours have flooded part of the Phillip Island circuit and delayed practice sessions for the Australian Grand Prix, organisers said on Friday.
Further rain was forecast for later in the day, with more wet weather also expected for qualifying on Saturday, organisers said on the race's website (www.motogp.com.au).
The rain had also caused sand to spread onto parts of the track and staff had been deployed to sweep it off.
Organisers said an announcement on practice sessions would be made later on Friday.
