Hyderabad, Nov 9 (PTI) Twenty-one amateur runners from Hyderabad successfully participated in the recently-concluded 28th Athens Marathon. The Hyderabad runners joined about 12,500 other amateur marathon runners from 88 countries across the golbe, who tested their running skills and endurance levels by successfully completing the 42.195 km race, Hyderabad Runners Group, an NGO, that promotes active participation in marathon races said in a release. The age of the runners from Hyderabad was between 34 and 63 years and all of them had taken to running in the last two or three years. Among the runners included doctors, a scientist and a police official. During the last three-and-half years, Hyderabad Runners has organised several races locally and the group members have participated in marathons in New York, Amsterdam as also in Mumbai and Delhi, the release added.
