Guangzhou, Nov 19 (PTI) India defeated Japan in a thrilling five setter in the men''s volleyball pre-quarterfinal league in the Asian Games here today. India beat Japan 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 26-28, 15-13 in a contest which lasted one hour and 56 minutes. For India, Pradeep Guttikonda scored the maximum 16 points while Sanjay Banwari and Sube Singh contributed 14 and 13 points respectively. India play Qatar in their second pre-quarterfinal league match tomorrow.
