Jagadeesh, Fernandez crack ton as Kerala take command

Perinthalmanna (Kerala), Nov 12 (PTI) Opener V A Jagadeesh (117) and Robert Fernandez (141) scored centuries as Kerala declared their first essay at 393 for nine in reply to Jammu and Kashmir''s 173 on the penultimate day of a four-day Ranji Trophy Plate League Group B match here today. Kerela, thus, lead J&K by 220 runs in the first essay and would eyeing for an innings victory on the final day of the match tomorrow. At stumps, J&K were struggling at 59 for three in their second innings. Earlier resuming at 184 for one, both the overnight batsmen Jagadeesh and Fernandez batted brilliantly to complete well-deserved centuries and added 238 runs for the second wicket to put Kerala in command. Jagadeesh struck 16 boundaries and a six and faced 230 deliveries, while Fernandez his 18 fours and a six during his 276-ball knock. For the visitors, medium pacer Abdi Nabi was the most successful bowler, claiming five wickets for 76 runs. J&K, in their second innings, were tottering at 59 for 3 in 27 overs.
