Maha reduces Vidharbha to 42/2 on rain-marred day

Wed, Nov 10 10 10:51 PM

Nashik, Nov 10 (PTI) Vidarbha were reeling at 42 for the loss of three wickets on the rain marred first day of their Group B Ranji Plate division match against Maharashtra at the Anant Kanhere ground here today. Unseasonal overnight rains meant that just over one hour of play was possible during the entire day, with the match beginning at 4.30 pm this evening. However, Maharashtra made full use of the brief period of play possible as they struck three vital blows after asking the hosts to bat first. Shrikant Mundhe dismissed Akshay Kolhar (0) and Amit Deshpande (6), while pacer Samad Fallah accounted for opener Amit Paunikar (12). Alind Naidu (17 not out) and Azhar Shaikh (2) were at the crease when the match was stopped due to bad light.
