TN-Punjab tie heading for tame draw

Chennai, Nov 9 (PTI) Punjab openers Kunwarjeet Raina and Jeevanjoth Singh held on gamely making 185 between them for an unbroken stand at close against Tamil Nadu on the penultimate day of their four-day under-22 cricket match for the CK Nayuddu Trophy here today. Tamil Nadu (overnight 289 for 8) ended their first innings at 320 all out in 171.4 overs this morning with Thabarak Baik highlighting the day with a superb unbeaten 119 (7x4 and 3x6). Punjab off-spinner Gunjot Singh (4 for 95) and left-arm spinner Yogesh Kumar (3 for 74) were the main wicket takers. At close, Raina (batting 87, 188b, 3 x 6, 7 x 4) and Jeevanjoth Singh (batting 86, 203b, 10 x 4) were at the crease adding 185 runs in 64 overs for the unbroken first wicket as the match headed to a tame draw.
