Beckham may have nowhere to play after Milan loan ends

London, Jan 7 (ANI): Ace England midfielder David Beckham may have nowhere to play once his AC Milan loan ends in May, as the Major League Soccer faces a strike.

International players union FIFPro is deadlocked in talks with the MLS about a new deal for all players in the US.

And the league is threatening a lockout if a new contract is not signed by January 31, The Sun reports.

FIFPro claim the MLS contract structure, which covers LA Galaxy's England ace midfielder Beckham, violates FIFA rules over transfers and freedom of movement.

"It's difficult to understand why the owners would take this course when all we're asking for are the same rights enjoyed by other players around the world," Everton's on-loan US star Landon Donovan said.

Ex-Spurs keeper Kasey Keller, now playing for Seattle, added: "We can't compete internationally with a system that is so radically different."

MLS chief Mark Abbott said: "MLS owners created a structure that has provided stability and growth." (ANI)
