Lara Bingle to continue legal action against Brendan Fevola

Melbourne, April 10 (ANI): Australian model Lara Bingle is continuing her legal action against AFL player Brendan Fevola.

Bingle, 22, is proceeding despite football bosses deciding on April 9 to drop their inquiry into the matter.

"The matter remains in the hands of our lawyers," the Daily Telegraph quoted Bingle's agent Max Markson as saying.

"Our legal action has always been against Fevola and remains so," he stated.

Markson refused to say where that action was up to, only that it was in the hands of Sydney law firm Kennedys and defamation and privacy specialist Patrick George.

AFL football operations general manager Adrian Anderson announced the investigation into Fevola's conduct was complete but that the AFL had not spoken directly to Bingle and would like to do so.

"Given the evidence currently available to us and the time elapsed since the alleged behaviour, the AFL has not established that a breach of our rules has occurred," he said.

"However, we will continue to monitor whether there are legal proceedings arising from this matter and the AFL remains willing to speak with Ms Bingle," he added.

The former Carlton player was interviewed twice as part of the investigation while Bingle, through her lawyers, declined to speak directly with the AFL but provided a statutory declaration. (ANI)
