Luxembourg's Frank Schleck crashed heavily during the third stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday.
The Saxo Bank rider fell off his bike on the fourth cobbled sector of the 213-km stage from Wanze, Belgium, some 26 kms from the finish.
Schleck was lying on his back but he was conscious.
