Bhullar, Chowrasia, Lahiri end tied 8th in Singapore Classic

Singapore, Sep 12 (PTI) The Indian trio of Gaganjeet Bhullar, SSP Chowrasia and Anirban Lahiri signed off a creditable tied eighth after returning contrasting cards in the final round of the USD 400,000 Handa Singapore Classic golf tournament here today. Lahiri was among those who carded the day''s best card of six-under 66, Bhullar failed to break par for the first time this week by returning a 72, while Chowrasia managed a modest two-under 70. The trio ended the event with totals of 14-under 274. Lahiri''s was best performance of the day. In a blemishfree front-nine, Lahiri opened with a birdie and picked up three more strokes to make the turn four-under. On his way back, Lahiri picked up birdies on the 10th, 15th and 16th before a dropped shot on the final hole prevented him from finishing higher up the order. Bhullar, who was placed tied fourth overnight, managed five birdies against an equal number of bogeys in a rollercoaster round. Chowrasia, meanwhile, stroked in four birdies against a couple of bogeys. Among other Indians in fray, C Muniyappa (75) and Vikrant Chopra (73) signed off tied 65th with totals of three-under 285.
