Kolkata, October 9 (PTI) Fresh from their Federation Cup victory, East Bengal continued their ruthless form, routing Eastern Railway 6-0 for their seventh consecutive win in the Calcutta Football League Premier Division here today. East Bengal''s Nigerian duo of Ekene Ikenwa and Orji Penn made a mockery of Railways defence in their thumping win at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan. While Ikenwa scored four goals (fourth, 36th, 46th, 79th minutes) and Penn scored a brace in the dying minutes to complete the rout. With this victory the red-and-gold brigade held the pole position with 21 points from seven games and moving towards the league crown for first time in four years. Last three years winners Mohun Bagan, who lost to East Bengal in Federation Cup final in Cuttack recently, have seven from four games. At his aggressive best, Ikenwa opened his account utilising a Robin Singh pass. In his second, the Nigerian duo combined beautifully with Ikenwa making it 2-0. Just after the break, Ikenwa netted the third as Penn helped his partner with the hattrick. In the 79th, Dipankar Ghosh of Eastern Railway fouled Penn inside the box, resulting in a penalty as Ikenwa made no mistake to fire in his fourth. Penn scored two back to back goals in the injury-time to hand East Bengal a splendid win.
