Second India-New Zealand cricket Test ends in draw

Hyderabad, Nov 16 (IANS) The second cricket Test match between India and New Zealand ended in a draw on the fifth and last day here Tuesday.

Chasing New Zealand's target of 327, India batted for 17 overs after tea, scoring 68/0 with Virender Sehwag batting at 54 and Gautam Gambhir 14 when the two teams decided to call off the match.

New Zealand had declared their second innings for 448/8 at tea, with Brendon McCullum stroking an impressive 225 (308b, 22x4, 4x6).

The visitors had scored 350 in their first innings but India through Harbhajan Singh's unbeaten 111 (116b 7x4, 7x6) and Sehwag's 96 (120b, 15x4, 1x6) took a 122 run lead.

The first Test at Ahmedabad also ended in a draw. The third and the last Test begins Nov 20 at Nagpur.
