Mumbai, Mar 5 (PTI) Local outfit Air India and relegation-threatened Sporting Clube de Goa drew 1-1 in a listless 14th round I-League encounter at the Cooperage football ground here today. A 34th minute strike by Allan Dias for the airmen was cancelled during add-on time in the first half itself by Nicholas Rodrigues, who converted a penalty. The draw left cellar outfit Sporting, who are yet to win a game, on six points and AI with 15 points in the 11th spot. AI custodian Kunal Sawant brought off two good saves in close succession to foil Sporting defender Chinta Chandrasekhar and midfielder Angelo Colaco, the latter one a rebound effort, later in the half. AI took the lead through the effort of throw-in specialist Uttam Singh which was relayed to Dias by striker N D Opara for the former to slot into the goal. Sporting got the chance to restore parity in injury time when AI Peter Odafe handled the ball inside the box and the resultant spot-kick was converted by medio Rodrigues. The second half was dull and boring with neither team looking capable of scoring.
