Chelsea's Bosingwa ruled out of World Cup

Chelsea's Portuguese defender Jose Bosingwa will miss the rest of the domestic season and the World Cup because of a knee injury, the Premier League club said on Friday.

Bosingwa, who has not played for Chelsea since October, had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in November and it was hoped he would be back after a three-month break.

"Bosingwa will be out for the season and have another operation, so that's him unfortunately and he'll miss the World Cup as well," Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins told the club's website.
