England stars believe 'weirdo'Fabio losing the plot, think he might quit

London, Aug.13 (ANI): England's football stars think coach Fabio Capello is turning into a "weirdo", a man who has lost the plot, and one who is failing to inspire the squad to move on and forget past disappointments.

The Sun quote an insider, as saying: "The players expected a big team meeting when Capello would tell them to put the World Cup nightmare out of their minds and look to rebuilding England."

"But instead they got silence. He never spoke to them, there was no rallying call, nothing.

"Quite frankly, they think he's becoming a bit of a weirdo, who is just going through the motions like his heart's not in it any more," the insider added.

On Wednesday night, as England won 2-1 at Wembley, Capello - usually such a vociferous figure on the touchline - stayed passively on the bench, hardly ventured into his technical area at all and adopted a surprisingly reserved approach.

When Steven Gerrard scored two magnificent goals to seal victory, Capello sat motionless with not even a flicker of emotion crossing his face.t suggested to some players that Capello, who earns six million pounds a year, has lost interest in the job.

In fact, they believe if he does not get at least four points from the qualifiers against Bulgaria at home and Switzerland away next month he could quit.

The faith of the players, the fans and the media is waning fast, especially off the back of a series of gaffes - starting with the Capello Index debacle before the World Cup, through to the ham-fisted announcement of the end of David Beckham's international career.

Questions are being asked among the squad about whether he is suited to the international game and how he does not understand the mentality of English footballers.

Yet Capello is adamant his players still believe in him.

The Italian said: "For me the important thing is the players. I work with the players. If they believe in me, we can win. When we win the fans will be with us. I am sure the players are with me." (ANI)
