Fri, Aug 13 10 07:56 PM

Jaipur, Aug 13 (PTI) The Jodhpur High court has issued a notice to Rajasthan Cricket Association Secretary Sanjay Dixit asking him to explain how can he hold the post despite being an IAS officer. The court was hearing a writ petition filed by Sri Ganganagar District Cricket Association regarding RCA having granted the permission to a parallel body of the district association to play in a state tournament. It was stated in the petition that RCA secretary Sanjay Dixit has wrongfully granted the permission to the rival body despite the matter pending in courts. Suspended IPL commissioner Lalit Modi''s aid, Mehmood Abdi was president of Shri Ganganagar District cricket association and had alleged that the parallel body had come into existence on instigation of RCA. Since then the matter has been in litigation as both factions claim to be the legal body. The lawyers of Abdi had filed writ petition today and while hearing the matter, court issued a notice to Dixit demanding to explain how he can hold the post of Secretary despite the government guidelines that no government servant can hold such office. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled on August 16. PTI DS ATK
