Mendis, Samaraweera frustrate India's hope of levelling series

Colombo, Aug. 6 -- Sri Lanka were 225 for eight in their second innings at tea on the fourth day of the third and final cricket Test against India in Colombo. Though Sri Lanka lost six wickets in the pre-lunch session Ajantha Mendis (45) and Thilan Samaraweera (78)playes with patience to frustrate Indian hope of winning the match and levelling the series 1-1. India are one down in the series due to defeat in the first match of the series. Earlier in the day, Pragyan Ojha and Amit Mishra shared five wickets between them as India reduced Sri Lanka to 143 for eight in the pre-lunch session. Brief Score: Sri lanka first innings: 425

Sri Lanka second innings: 225 for 8 in 74 overs (Thilan Samaraweera 78 batting, Ajanta Mendis 45 batting; Pragyan Ojha 3/80, Virender Sehwag 3/50, Amit Mishra 2/41).
