Indore, Nov 3 (PTI) Brilliant batting display by Swapnil Asnodkar (84) and Vidyut Shivramakrishnan (58) helped Goa to make a comeback and score 268 for three in their second innings against Madhya Pradesh in the Plate Group ''A'' Ranji trophy match at Holkar Stadium here today. On the penultimate day, Madhya Pradesh bowlers toiled hard as Goa batsmen gave fitting reply to the hosts'' first innings total of 328. Goa openers captain Sagun Kamat and Swapnil Asnodkar batted confidently and added 85 runs in the morning session for the first wicket. Kamat (50) was first to be dismissed caught by Naman Ojha off Abbas Ali. He struck 10 fours during his 82 balls stay at the crease. Vidyut Shivramakrishnan, who failed to strike in the first innings, showed his old touch and scored a classy half-century, laced with six fours and a six. Asnodkar and Shivramakrishnan added useful 111 runs for the second wicket partnership. In the meantime, Asnodkar completed his half-century in 141 balls, which involved seven hits to the fence. At the score of 214, Madhya Pradesh got the prized scalp of well set Asnodkar. Ajay Ratra and Rahul Keni carried the innings ahead, denying the hosts any further success.
