Jharkhand thrash Tripura

Agartala, Nov 3 (PTI) Jharkhand registered an innings and 131-run victory over Tripura on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Plate A match at Maharaja Bir Bikram Stadium here today. After the visiting team put up a total of 335 runs in their first innings, the hosts got bundled out for a mere 73 that led to them ''following on''. In their second innings also Tripura failed to show any resistance as they got all out for 131, making it a total of just 204. Jharkhand medium-pacer Varun Aron bagged the man-of-the-match award for being the most economical bowler. He took two wickets by giving away 36 runs in the second innings, while he claimed five wickets for just 17 runs in his 10 overs in the innings innings. For Tripura, only Timir Chanda, former skipper, could offer some resistance by hitting 30 runs, even as most of his teammates failed to reach the double digits. This victory has earned Jharkhand five points plus a bonus point to make it a total of 6 points.
