Tight security for first ODI between India and New Zealand

Guwahati, Nov 3 (PTI) Tight security arrangements have been made to ensure no untoward incident take place during the first one-day international between India and New Zealand to be played at Nehru Stadium here on November 28. Assam Cricket Association secretary Bikash Barua told reporters here that the planning for security cover in and around the stadium has been completed. "Apart from Assam police personnel, we are also arranging for private security. Close circuit cameras will be installed in various places, including all gates of the stadium to ensure close monitoring to avoid any untoward incident," Barua said. The ACA, which is hosting the match, has already set up various sub-committees and responsibilities have been delegated to the respective sub-committees. The preparation of the pitch and outfield of Nehru Stadium has begun in full swing under the watchful eyes of curators Sunil Baruah and Ratul Das, who is also a member of BCCI Field and Pitch Sub Committee. Both the teams will arrive here on November 26 and will have their workout session at Nehru Stadium on November 27. The Indian team will practice from 9 am while the New Zealand team will have their practice session from 11 am. The match will start at 8:30 am on November 28. The New Zealanders will stay at Hotel Nakshatra while the Indian team will stay at Landmark Hotel. .
