Hobart (Tasmania, Australia) Nov.15 (ANI): Ben Hilfenhaus is desperate to take the new ball in the first Test at the Gabba and says Australia will put a massive target on the head of England skipper Andrew Strauss.
The left-handed opener struggled during England's 2006-07 Ashes tour, averaging 24.70, but has hit the ground running this summer with centuries against Western Australia and South Australia.
"Definitely. I see myself as a new-ball bowler so I see that as part of my role," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hilfenhaus, as saying in Hobart on Monday after being named in Australia's 17-man Ashes squad.
"I'm doing everything I can to make sure that I'm as best-prepared as I can be and give myself every chance to be a part of that first team."
The Tasmanian will be rested from this week's round of Shield matches and is already working on strategies to get through the defences of Strauss.
"I reckon Strauss in the top order (is the key)," Hilfenhaus said.
"If we get him cheaply and get under his nose, it's a good chance for us to get on top of them early.
"So I reckon that's fairly important for us, to target him," he said. (ANI)
