Mumbai, Apr 7 (PTI) Leaders Mahindra United dropped two crucial points as a relegation-threatened Mumbai FC held them to a goal-less draw in the 20th round I-League match at the Cooperage ground here today. The draw gives title contenders Dempo, who are now two points behind Mahindra, a chance to reclaim the top position by beating East Bengal later in the week. Mahindra currently have 37 points from 20 matches with the help of nine wins and 10 draws. Mumbai FC have 21 points from 20 games. Playing the match without injured strikers Abhishek Yadav, Kayne Vincent and Dane Pereira, Mumbai FC defence led by Subhas Chakraborthy and Bernard Achaw did well to keep their rivals at bay. The first real chance came in the 33rd minute when Mahindra''s Muritala Ali ran with the ball from the middle. But with a defender in front of him, Muritala could not get the timing of his shot right as rival goalkeeper Nidhinlal A C blocked it easily. Minutes before the first half, Mahindra had another opportunity but a header by skipper N Ajayan off a Steven Dias corner went over the bar. With nothing much happening in the first half, Mahindra introduced Svetozar Mijin in the second half in the place of Paresh Shivalkar. .
