PCB boss Butt mad over coach Waqar's 'harking to media' habits

Karachi, Jun.4 (ANI): It seems that all is not well between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt and coach Waqar Younis, as the later was not invited for a crucial meeting at the Board headquarters in Lahore during which the team for the forthcoming Asia Cup was picked.

Sources close to the developments revealed that Butt had invited skipper Shahid Afridi and chief selector Mohsin Khan to discuss the names of cricketers for the June 15- 24 quadrangular one-day series in Sri Lanka, but decided against sending any invite to Waqar.

"Butt decided to discuss the team with just Afridi and Mohsin though normally the coach is also there for such meetings," The News quoted sources, as saying.

Insiders said that Butt is not happy with Waqar's style, and that the PCB has advised him not to make any comment against either against the board or any other player.

"The PCB chief is not very happy with Waqar because of the coach's habit of making comments about the team and other cricket matters in the media," sources said.

"The PCB wants Waqar to curb his tendency of making statements hich the Board believes can be a bit negative at times," they added. (ANI)
