Prince group to perform in Commonwealth games ceremony

After showcasing their unique talent in a reality show, Berhampur based Prince Dance group is now set to perform in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.

Prince Dance Group came into National fame after it won the reality show - India's Got Talent last year.

The International sport event, hosted by India, is scheduled to be held from October 3 at New Delhi.

"We are very happy as we got a chance to show our skill in an International event", the leader of the dance group, Krishna Mohan Reddy said. Reddy, however, said the group was yet to decide the item to be presented in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.

"We don't think so far as the date of event is to be held in the month of October. We are now busy with other programmes", he said. Reddy and his troupe are now in Hyderabad to perform in a programme in Andhra Pradesh.

With no formal professional training, most members of the group of Ambapua, at the outskirt of Berhampur were daily labourers. But their performance was praised by all including the noted artists Sekhar Summon and Sonali Bendre.

The members of the group including two polio-stricken persons, The group with everyone below 22-years of age, had performed the dances like the Kalia Dalana, Sare Jahanse Achha and Dasabatara in the reality show in August, 2009. The group had won Rs 50 lakh cash along with a car.
