Karachi, Jul 4 (PTI) The refusal of international teams to tour Pakistan since last year will leave the Pakistan Cricket Board with a deficit budget for the fiscal year 2010-2011. The total budget which is expected to be around 1.75 billion rupees will be a deficit one as no international cricket is being organised in Pakistan after the militants attack on the Sri Lankan team last year in Lahore in March. "Due to the deficit budget, the employees of the board will also get only one increment raises in the new fiscal budget although the government has announced a 50 per cent increase in salaries of all government employees in its federal budget," one source said. The new budget is expected to be presented for approval at the governing council meeting of the board on July 7 by the new chief financial officer, Raza Hasan. The last budget for the year 2009/2010 was also submitted and approved after a four month delay and its total overlay was 1.52 billion rupees with a deficit of around 600 million rupees. "There is no doubt that because of foreign teams not visiting Pakistan and mainly because India has frozen bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan, the board is facing a financial crunch. But it has also made up its mind to complete all its ongoing development projects in the new budget," the source said. Interestingly, while the board keeps on cribbing about financial constraints, media reports have regularly highlighted the excess administrative expenses incurred on top officials and the hefty salaries and perks being given out to the senior officials. PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt, himself, has cost the board a lot although he works in a honorary capacity with his frequent travels abroad costing the board in millions.
