New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS) Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) president Mike Fennell Thursday met Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy to discuss the progress of the Games projects.
A ministry source said Fennell inquired about some of the delayed projects on which Reddy assured him that work will be completed within the deadline. He met the minister for about 40 minutes at his office.
Earlier in the day, Fennell met Dikshit for around 30 minutes from 9 a.m. at her residence, during which the two discussed several Games projects.
According to sources, Fennell was satisfied with the answers given by Reddy and Dikshit.
The CGF president is on a two-day visit to Delhi to monitor the preparedness for the mega sporting event.
The organising committee has set Aug 25 as the deadline when all the venues will be fully completed. The Games Village will be thrown open for athletes from Sep 16.
