London, Aug 25 (ANI): To boost England's 2018 World Cup bid, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will cast national rivalry aside and take FIFA bigwigs on a tour of Old Trafford
Ferguson, born and raised in Glasgow, has twice turned down a chance to coach England.
He will be joined by United legend Sir Bobby Charlton and chief executive David Gill to welcome the fact-finding delegation of FIFA.
"The facilities in England for players and fans are magnificent, from training grounds to stadia," The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"And the passion of the English people for the game would ensure everybody would feel welcome. It would be a memorable occasion and inspire people all over the world," he said.
FIFA's six-strong inspection team will also visit the North East of England today.
The bid result will be announced in December. (ANI)
