Islamabad, Aug 25 (PTI) Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has endorsed the idea of a cricket match between Pakistan and India to raise funds for flood-affected people in Pakistan. "I would like to see an Indo-Pakistan match for the purpose of raising funds for the flood victims," he told a TV news channel. Expressing grief and sorrow at the loss of lives and property in the devastating floods that have swept Pakistan, he said, "It''s a huge calamity and to help the affected people, Pakistan and India should ideally play either in Pakistan or India". "If that is not possible, then a neutral venue is also an option for both the (cricket) boards," said Kapil Dev. He said he would talk to Indian cricket board officials soon about the proposed flood relief match. "I would like to see an Indo-Pak match for this purpose in the near future and in this regard, I will have a word with BCCI officials," he said. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ijaz Butt has already said that the board is keen on organising an India-Pakistan match to raise funds for the 20 million people affected by the floods.
