Hyderabad, Nov 6 (PTI) India''s Soumyajit Ghosh today entered the semifinals of the boys singles event in the Global Junior and Cadet Challenge table tennis championship here. He defeated France''s Banjamin Brossier 13-11 11-7 9-11 8-11 11-7 9-11 11-1 in a contest that was neck and neck all the way. He will next meet Japan''s Masaki Yoshida, who beat Chile''s Felipe Olivares 11-4 11-5 11-7 11-8 in the other last-eight clash. In the junior Girls singles category, India''s Karnam Spoorthy lost 7-11 6-11 7-11 5-11 in straight games against Egypt''s Dina Meshref to finish 10th in the event.
