Wed, Dec 01 10 09:22 PM

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1 (PTI) Former Australian one-day specialist Michael Bevan has been approached by the Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) to join it as an advisor for the development of the sport. Dubbed as one of the world''s greatest one-day batsmen, Bevan was here for three days and visited the state-run academy, met players and went through a presentation given by Orissa coaches. Nothing, however, has been finalised as yet and OCA was waiting for the 40-year-old''s terms and conditions. "He was very impressed by young talented Orissa cricketers. If he joins the state, he will be roped in as advisor to look after various age groups -- right from under-16 to the senior Ranji side," OCA secretary Asirbad Behera told PTI. "We are hopeful of a positive response from him. If it materialises, Bevan will join us for the next season," he said. Bevan watched the Orissa and Punjab Ranji Trophy Super League match at the Railways ground here during the day before leaving for Australia.
