MP gain control vs MP at the end of first day''s play

Indore, Dec 1 (PTI) Inspired bowling by seamers Anand Rajan and T Sudheendra helped hosts Madhya Pradesh to bundle out Jharkhand cheaply for 131 on the first day of their Ranji Trophy Plate League (Group A) match here at Holkar Stadium today. At stumps, Madhya Pradesh were 135 for three enjoying a lead of three runs. Skipper Devendra Bundela was batting on 34 while Rajan was yet to open his account. Jharkhand skipper Ishank Jaggi won the toss and opted to bat first. Sudheendra started the slide by sending the top three Jharkhand batsmen with only 40 runs on the board. Jaggi batted well for a while but he too was dismissed at an individual score of 29. MP skipper Bundela brought Anand Rajan after he gauged that Sudheendra was getting a fair bit of movement. Anand grabbed four for 31 runs in 13.4 overs of which included four maidens. Sudheendra took three for 21 in 11 overs while Amit Sharma chipped in with a couple of wickets giving away 51 runs in 16 overs. In reply, Madhya Pradesh started off well and the first wicket partnership between Naman Ojha and Jalaj Saxena yielded 72 runs. Saxena was first to be dismissed for 29 runs scored in 48 deliveries with five boundaries. At the score of 87, Madhya Pradesh got big jolt when well set Ojha was adjudged leg before off Varun Aaron at an individual score of 44 with seven boundaries. Mohnish Mishra was the next batsman dismissed for 11 runs.
