Brief news ahead of the Premier League weekend fixtures (times GMT):

* Leaders Manchester United travel to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday (1730) with in-form striker Wayne Rooney and midfielders Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs all fit.

Long term absentees John O'Shea and Owen Hargreaves are both back in first team training but are both still short of fitness.

"Going to Bolton is a battle, it's always been that way," United manager Alex Ferguson told the club website (www.manutd.com).

"I think there will be some points dropped by the three (top) teams between now and the end of the season. We just have to make sure we don't drop as many as Arsenal and Chelsea."

Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill is in contention for a recall having returned to fitness following a blood clot in his arm.

* Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is fit for Saturday's clash with Aston Villa (1500) despite limping off in the midweek win over Portsmouth.

The Ivory Coast striker is on 30 goals for the season for the second time in his Blues career. Defender Ricardo Carvalho is out with an ankle injury.

* Third-placed Arsenal travel to Birmingham City on Saturday (1500) without defensive duo William Gallas (injured) and Thomas Vermaelen (suspended), but striker Nicklas Bendtner is fit.

French centre-back Gallas has been sidelined with a calf injury since Feb. 10 but is finally set to resume full training.

"He is back from his rehabilitation and is back in full training I believe Friday, Saturday or Sunday," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club website (www.arsenal.com).
