Lahore, Apr.8 (ANI): Banned Pakistan fast bowler Rana Naved-ul-Hasan has been signed by English county team Sussex as a replacement for Yasir Aarafat, who has been included in Pakistan's squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Championship in West Indies.

Rana, who is currently serving a one-year ban imposed on him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), had played for Sussex for two consecutive seasons in 2005 and 2006.

He played for Yorkshire last year, but struggled to keep the momentum he used to have with Sussex.

Sussex coach, Mark Robinson, said he was looking forward to Rana's presence in the dressing room, and expressed the hope that he would he would showcase his all-round talent during upcoming matches.

"We are extremely fortunate to have a player of the quality of Naved to cover Yasir.

He knows the club well, will fit in quickly and add some depth to our bowling attack as well as provide some useful runs," The Daily Times quoted Robinson, as saying.

The 32-year-old fast bowler has an impressive first class record with 139 wickets at an average of 22.41 to his name. (ANI)
