Jamming of Al Jazeera's coverage of the World Cup soccer finals in June originated in Jordan, the Qatar-based broadcaster said on Thursday.
Al Jazeera, which had exclusive rights from world soccer's governing body FIFA to broadcast the tournament in the Middle East and North Africa, suffered disruption to some matches, including the opener between hosts South Africa and Mexico.
"Al Jazeera confirms that the source of the disturbance on its sports channel during the World Cup came from Jordan," the Arabic language channel said.
An official Jordanian source denied the claim when contacted by Reuters.
"These accusations are untrue and not acceptable and the Jordanian government is ready to cooperate with any impartial team of experts to examine the facts and it is confident the results will show the baseless nature of these accusations," the source said.
Egypt and Al Jazeera clashed over the interference during the tournament after the channel alleged an Egyptian-managed satellite service carrying the signal was deliberately sabotaged.
Egypt denied any involvement in the jamming and called for an independent body to investigate.
