Firing at boxing hostel in Bhiwani

Bhiwani, Oct 5 (PTI) A land dispute led to firing at the Captain Hawa Singh Boxing Academy hostel here today, the police said. A group of boys armed with pistols, canes, and iron rods arrived in two separate vehicles in the hostel and damaged window panes, gates and even fired in the air, alleged coach Sanjay. Sanjay, son of late Asian medalist boxer Hawa Singh, said "About 20-25 young boys arrived in cars in the evening and entered the hostel building. They smashed windowpanes, hit doors, beaten trainee sportsboys and opened fire to terrorise the sportsmen." DSP Ram Avtar, after getting information, reached the hostel and said the police seized a shell from there. The police was investigating and detail could be informed after completion of the inquiry, said DSP. DSP Ram Avtar told a verbal duel occurred between Preetam Dalal, a teacher and Naresh Bunty and others for a room of a local school located at Hansi gate here, yesterday at HUDA colony. Later the group was asking Dalal to vacate the room. He said a case has been registered under section 307 of the IPC and Arms Act against 20-30 persons. However, no arrest has been made sofar in this connection and investigation was on.
