New Delhi, Oct 5 (PTI) After a disappointing first day at the Commonwealth Games, the Indian lawn bowls team today came up with a string of good performances and secured three back to back wins at the synthetic greens of the Jawahar Lal Nehru Sports complex here. In the first match Indian pair of Dinesh and Prince defeated the Namibians Willem Erasmus and Jean Viljoen in an exciting tie-break with a 3-1 scoreline. "Having 15 years of experience the Namibians are very good. In the beginning we got a little bit distracted but then we concentrated on the match and won," Indian Skipper Dinesh Kumar said after the match. Indian lawn bowls coach Richard Gale, while praising the team said, "Lots of training is the only step to get them perfect. I am happy with the performance of the team." In another Group B encounter, the team again took the tiebreak route to defeat the Kiwis 5-1 after the honours were shared in the first two sets. However, the Indian ladies triples dominated their tie against Botswana and won comprehensively in straight sets 2-0. The Indian trio of Pinki, Tania and Rupa Rani finished with a total score of 19, 10 more than their rivals. Yesterday, Indian campaign got off to a bad start as men lost both their matches and the eves managed a solitary victory in three matches.
