Miami Heat All-Star guard Dwyane Wade left the team's opening pre-season game on Tuesday with a strained hamstring, casting a cloud over LeBron James's playing debut with the team.
The All-Star guard lasted just over three minutes into the Heat's game against the Detroit Pistons before limping off the court for treatment.
Wade was treated briefly courtside before moving to the locker room for further treatment on his right hamstring. The Heat said he would not return to the game but did not state the severity of the strain.
The 28-year-old Wade re-signed with the Heat during the off-season and the team caused a sensation by bringing in James and fellow All-Star Chris Bosh to play with him in one of the most ambitious pieces of squad building the league has seen.
