Vadodara, Nov 25 (PTI) A solid batting display by Baroda enabled them to post a challenging first innings score of 416 against Punjab in their Ranji Trophy Super League Group B match here today. Opener Conor Williams (75), Kedar Devdhar (65), Ambati Rayudu (79) and wicketkeeper-batsman Pinal Shah (63) slammed half centuries respectively as Baroda resuming at 94 for one added another 322 runs on the second day at the Moti Bagh ground here. Baroda left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt then dismissed opener Ravi Inder Singh (0) to reduce Punjab to 10 for one in 7 overs at stumps. Surul Kunwar (9 batting) and Vishwas Bhalla (1 batting) were at the crease at the draw of stumps. Resuming at overnight score of 33, Williams completed his half-century before being caught by Jaskaran Singh off Karan Goel in the 80th over. Seven balls later, Sarabjit Ladda removed the other set batsman Devdhar with Jaskaran taking the catch as Baroda lost two quick wickets and slipped to 206 for three in 80.3 overs. Rakesh Solanki (2) also couldn''t stay longer and became the second victim of Ladda with wicketkeeper Uday Kaul completing the stumping. After that Rayudu and Shah took the onus on themselves and shared a 130-run partnership to consolidate the position of the hosts. For Punjab, Goel (4/96) and Ladda (5/118) shared nine wickets between them.
