City boys maintain lead in junior golf

Kolkata, Nov 25 (PTI) City golfers Samraat Basu and Viraj Madappa were at their consistent best to maintain their lead in the A and B category of the Toyota Etios Eastern India Junior and Sub-Junior Golf at Tollygunge Course here today. The duo finished their day with a score of three over 73 in the penultimate leg of the Junior golf tour. Samraat now leads the table with a total score of 215 over 54 holes as Banglore golfer Rahul Ravi and Arjun Singh from Delhi follow the leader with 217 (72, 73, 72) and 220 (76, 73, 71) respectively over 54 holes. The leader group also remained unchanged in Category B with Viraj leading with 221 (75, 73, 73) over 54 holes. Viraj was followed by Delhi golfers Shubhankaar Sharma (73, 78, 76) and Honey Baisoya (80, 73, 74) who are tied for the second position with 227 each at the end of the third day. In Category C, Jaipur golfer Prakhar Asawa pulled up his game to lead the field with 217 (70, 76, 71) and is being closely followed by Delhi''s Piyush Sangwan who trails by a stroke with 218 (74, 71, 73). Gurbaani Singh maintained her lead with 149 (71, 78) over 36 holes, followed by Aditi Ashok (78, 76) and Meher Atwal (78, 82) at 154 and 160 respectively in girls Category A and B respectively. In Category D, Digraj Singh Gill led the field with 165 (80, 85) over 36 holes. Kshitij Naveed Kaul (85, 83) and Devansh Chadha (83, 85) were tied at the second spot with a total score of 168 over 36 holes. C Saivenkat was placed third with a total score of 171 (82, 89).
