Chennai, Nov 25 (PTI) Stiff competition amongst the top three contenders for grabbing pole position in the elitist LGB Formula Rolon Category is on cards in the penultimate and fifth round of the 13th National JK Tyre Road Racing championship here this weekend. The event being held at the MMST''s 3.5 km track near here in Sriperumbudur would have two races each of Formula Swift and Formula LGB Rolon and Volkswagen''s Polo Cup, besides Super Saloons. The focus in the penultimate round will be on performers in the Formula Rolon section since Wallace Sports driver, Ajay Kini (61 points) in Formula Swift Category and Visag''s Sailesh Bolisetti (in Super Saloons and Polo Cup) have almost sealed championship titles. Performance of drivers in the last five Formula Rolon races were spell binding as Delhi''s Sarosh Hataria (Meco Racing) and Mars Racing''s Saran Vikram fighting tooth and nail for honours. Chennai lad Saran Vikram displayed tremendous skills in winning three of the five races so far to tally 30 points, followed by Sarosh Hataria (two wins) with 29 points. Hataria has bundle of experience compared to Saran Vikram and Vishnu Prasad. Vishnu Prasad has also aggregated 29 points with third place finish on four occasions and a fourth in the last race. Thus, all eyes will be focused on Formula LGB Rolon event in the coming week and a do or die battle is expected between Hataria and Saran to grab points. Hataria considers the remainder of the Rolon events to be tougher but his team has worked all through the week in preparing the car after a break of two months in the championship. "I was faced with mechanical problems in the car in two of the five races so far. We are not taking any chances for the next events and services personnel are working overtime in getting the car readied. I am sure my car is going to be the quickest on the grid. "I count on grabbing the pole to enjoy slight edge over Saran Vikram. There will be a good fight since the cars are equal in their settings. Therefore, Saran''s fight will be intense but I am not unduly worried about my team mate Vishnu Prasad, a new kid in the block in the sense that he is still learn the space of race craft," Hataria said about the coming events. However, country''s battery major, Amaron Racing with three drivers known for their highest finishes in Rotax and Rotomax Karting Championships, are leading the points table for Team Championship title with 53 points, followed by Meco with 44 and Mars Racing 33.
