Chandigarh, Nov 25 (PTI) The Haryana Government has decided to introduce an award that will recognise the achievements of sportspersons in the age group of 45-50. The Masters Athletic award would be conferred on the medallists in national and international events. By giving away cash awards, the state government intends to keep the aged ones motivated. A proposal to this effect has been approved by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. While announcing this here today, a spokesman of the state government said that in case of international events, cash prizes would amount to Rs 35,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000. Similarly, in case of national events, these awards would carry cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000. The sports policy-2009 has the provision to give away such awards to those in the age group of of 45 to 50 years. PTI VJ AH
