Margao, Jan 28 (PTI) Dempo Sports Club will bank on home advantage to keep their winning momentum going when they meet East Bengal tomorrow in the round 12 I-League match at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda here. Dempo, who played without their two foreign players did well to demolish Sporting Clube de Goa and regain the top spot with 22 points, now two points ahead of Mahindra United and Mohun Bagan. Peter Carvalho controlled the midifield well in the absence of Roberto D''Silva along with Clifford Miranda to punch holes in the defense of Sporting. Joaquim Abranches who replaced injured Ranty Martins also played well upfront scoring a goal. Dempo will be once again relying on him to do the damage to the rival defence who are looking good after their Federation Cup triumph. East Bengal carried on their Federation Cup triumph into the I-League when they ended defending champions Churchill Brothers'' unbeaten run beating them in a 3-2 thriller in their last match. Yakubu, who created history in the national league and I-league by scoring 100 goals will be the one Dempo''s defense have to watch on closely. He along with India''s star striker Bhaichung Bhutia, Hammond and Alvito D''Cunha have combined well to demolish opposition''s confidence. (More) PTI MCS VKV SHN
