Bhopal, Jan 28 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today distributed drafts worth Rs 23 lakh to 18 Indian women hockey players and five officials. At a function at his official residence, Chouhan also gave away a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to clear the outstanding dues of the players. Chouhan had earlier given Rs one crore to the Union Sports Ministry for clearing the dues of hockey players and promoting the game. He said that till now women hockey players have not received anything from Hockey India and therefore he was giving an additional Rs 50 lakh to them. "I have been told that the money will come tomorrow, but as no one has seen tomorrow therefore I am giving away Rs 50 lakh today itself to the players," he said. The Chief Minister also honoured the women hockey players, former players and officials on the occasion.
