Karachi, Jan 28 (PTI) With former players gunning for his head after the disastrous Australia tour, under-fire Pakistan skipper Mohammad Yousuf got the much-needed support from Inzamam-ul Haq, who feels the right-hander should be retained captain of the national side till next year''s World Cup. Former skipper and the nation''s most capped player Inzamam said Yousuf deserved a better treatment and respect from the Pakistan Cricket Board. "He (Yousuf) took up the challenge of leading the team at a time when no one was willing to take this responsibility and has tried his best," Inzamam said. "I think he should be retained for one full year till 2011 World Cup before the PCB makes any decision about his fate," he said. The former middle-order batsman was also averse to the policy of making frequent changes in the leadership position. "It is not wise to make frequent changes in captaincy because it will further worsen the performance of the team besides adding additional pressure on the players," Inzamam said. Inzamam, who played 120 Tests and 378 ODIs, said it would be fair to give Yousuf a fair chance to prove his leadership credentials. .
